Visit Carisbrooke Station and discover the hidden treasures of the Merton Gorge and Lookout. See the Three Sisters, fossick for opal and learn how this vast landscape came to be and how the pioneers lived off the land. Continue your journey through Winton’s mesa country to the Dinosaur Stampede where 3300 dinosaur footprints were preserved 95 million years ago.
 

Today visit the Australian Age of Dinosaurs with the largest collection of Australian dinosaur bones in the world. Hear how the bones are surfacing and are dug up right here in the Winton region and remain in Winton to be prepared and displayed. Tour through the new Dinosaur Canyon comprising outdoor galleries, linked by a walking track, which displays up to 85 life-sized
bronze statues of dinosaurs. Head back into town and visit the Waltzing Matilda Centre. This museum is a fabulous celebration of our unofficial national song and the history of Winton.

Spend a relaxed morning exploring Winton at your own pace. In the afternoon embark on a Winton town tour before joining the Sunset Tour to Rangelands Station. Walk through the Rangelands Rifts, enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles at sunset.

Transfer by coach to Longreach for the journey to Brisbane. Overnight on board the Spirit of the Outback.
